In an increasingly interconnected world, the need for culturally competent social workers is more important than ever.
The School of Social Work offers opportunities for study, research and service in other countries, in collaboration with other UGA units such as the Center for Global Health, as well as universities and organizations outside the United States. Students may participate in the School’s Maymester Study Away programs or international service-learning opportunities, as well as in field internships in approved practicum sites in Ghana, or independently participate in approved international programs for course credit.
Many of our faculty also pursue projects outside the U.S. that are open to student participation.
